# Phone alerts

> Choose how to receive alerts across your account.

Choose separately which alerts appear in the app and which reach your phone. Your choices apply across your account; each phone needs its own permissions.

## Choose your alerts

1. Open **Settings** and go to **Notifications**.
2. Turn **Phone alerts** on to enable optional alerts on every phone where you sign in to your account.
3. For each alert type under **Matches**, **Roster** and **Team**, choose **In the app** and **On your phone** separately.
4. Check permissions on this device. If permission is missing, use **Activate on this phone** or **Activate in this browser** when that action appears.

## Good to know

* Turning **Phone alerts** off pauses optional alerts on all your devices. **On your phone** turns grey and keeps your choices; **In the app** stays editable.
* Turning it back on restores those choices and resumes only new alerts. Alerts left pending while off are not sent later.
* Turning the control on may open this device's permission prompt. Refusing does not turn alerts off for your account or change permissions on other phones.
* **System** stays on in both channels. It can reach your phone even when optional alerts are off, if that device has permissions on.
* Changing **In the app** affects only new alerts. Items already in **Home** stay there.
* Reminders to complete your cards appear only in **Home**, never as phone alerts.
* Signing out stops alerts on that device and preserves your choices and other phones.

## If permission is missing

In Android and the iPhone app, use **Open phone settings** if permission is blocked. In a browser, turn it on in this site's settings. On iPhone with the web app, first add it to the Home Screen and open it from there.
