# Delete a team

> How to delete a team and what happens to the roster and the match.

<Warning>Deleting a team is final.</Warning>

## How to do it

1. Open **My Teams** and pick the team.
2. At the bottom of the screen, tap **Delete team**.
3. Type the team's name to confirm.
4. Tap **Delete team permanently**.

## Good to know

* When you delete the team, it stops existing for all its members. The app warns you that you delete the roster, matches and history.
* If there is an active match, the app cancels it and notifies the roster.
* The invitation links stop working.
* If you'd rather the team carries on without you, [hand the presidency to a Manager](/en/teams/transfer-the-presidency).

## If something goes wrong

* If the name you typed doesn't match the team's name, you can't confirm. Correct it.
* If the app can't delete the team, it tells you. Try again in a few minutes.
